In order to get the most out of your Spotify Artist Profile, you should be using Fan Insights to track and better understand your listeners. Likewise, you should have an engaging Artist Bio and clear musical direction. But have you ever considered the importance of your Artist Profile Image?

Let’s say you’re on Discover Weekly, Rap Caviar, or another Spotify playlist. That’s awesome. The listener is going to look at their phone or computer and to find out who they’re listening to. And, since listeners are struck by the image of your profile first, you can capitalize on this vital portion of your profile.

To make sure you look your best on Spotify, your image should:

  • Have the correct file format (.jpeg, .gif, or .png)

  • Be at least 2660px x 1140px, but preferably 6000px x 4000px

  • Not exceed 20MB

  • Show your face in the center and as far away from all edges as possible

  • Not contain any infringing or offensive materials

  • Not contain writing, brand advertising, or busy backgrounds

  • Not promote your upcoming tour or album release

  • Comply with Spotify’s copyright policy

In order to change your Artist Profile Picture, follow the steps listed below.

  1. Click the circular profile photo in the upper left hand corner of your dashboard.

  2. This will launch the Spotify desktop app (make sure you’re logged into Spotify using the same account connected to Fan Insights).

  3. Once your artist page is open, click the blue “edit images” button on your photo. Follow the prompts to upload a new image.

We know you’re excellent, so why not have an excellent profile image to show off to all your listeners.

You can visit Spotify’s FAQ page for any more questions you might have about Artist Insights.
