I had this exact problem in the desktop app all the time, and since searching didn't bring up anything useful, i did some testing. Didn't take long to find a simple solution:-logout of musixmatch in spotify desktop app-open your browser and login/sign up on musixmatch VIA FACEBOOK and finally-login to musixmatch in spotify desktop app.

  • I have the same problem. I just dont see the quality in Spotify regarding many things. This doesn't work. I wonder when they will start expanding the App into many different things. What will be the percentage of things that will 100% work. I guess we are all their 'premium' QA Team.

You can connect your Spotify account to stream your favorite tracks with synced lyrics and have quick access to saved playlists and Spotify's entire music library without even leaving the Musixmatch app.

Connect Spotify from the first launch of the app:

  1. Log in to the Musixmatch app
  2. Tap 'Connect Spotify'
  3. Tap “Log in to Spotify' if you already have a Spotify account or “Sign Up to Spotify” if you need to create one.

Connect Spotify through your app settings:

  • Go to the home screen clicking the “Home” button on the toolbar.
  • Tap “Settings” on the top of the screen.
  • Then, tap “Connect' Spotify.
  • Tap “Log in to Spotify” if you already have an account or “Sign Up to Spotify” if you need to create one.


You can change your music source on the music page in the top-right corner.

How to solve desktop app issues?

For any kind of problem, firstly you have to clean your cache.

Windows

Make sure you are using the latest version of Windows 10. That can be checked from Settings>System>About>Windows Specification

1- Log-out and close the desktop app by tapping on 'Quit Musixmatch' (right mouse button on the Musixmatch icon).

2- Search the Musixmatch folder writing down %AppData% on FileExplorer or on the Search box of your Start screen

App

3- Follow that folder path: AppDataLocalPackagesMUSIXMATCH.LYRICS_7gejyv32yt3teLocalCacheRoamingMusixmatch

4- Delete the folder

5- Wait at least 2 minutes before trying to log in again

If this doesn't work

1- Search the Musixmatch folder writing down %AppData% on FileExplorer or on the Search box of your Start screen

2- AppDataRoamingMusixmatch

3- Delete the folder

4- Wait at least 2 minutes before trying to log in again


Mac

1- Close Musixmatch app through Genius bar

1- Select 'Go' and 'Go to Folder...'

2- Search the path: ~/Library/Application Support

3- Delete the Musixmatch folder

When you try to log-in, you have a white window?

Close the login window and open it again.

The app doesn't work. I have an error message 'CLR error 80004005'. How can I fix it?

It is a system problem not related to our App.

An application installed on the end-user machine messed up some Windows components (.NET framework in this case).
But since we do not know why it happened (maybe some old software, or unofficial pc cleaning SW, or a cracked app, etc…), the best is to “refresh the PC without losing documents and personal data” as explained here.


White page while working on a Mission task?
It is a system problem not related to our App.
  1. Press ctrl+R
  2. Go to Mission and select the task you’re working on
  3. Press restore to start from where you left
  4. If it’s not working for you, try deleting this folder: C:Users[Your Username]AppDataRoamingMusixmatch, then log back in. It should reduce the frequency of this issue.

Oops! Something went wrong :(

  1. If you have worked on this song using the mobile app, this error may show up. It is a known bug that we will fix soon.
  2. What you can do is fix the lyrics using mobile/ask another contributor to edit for you.

Issues like “App doesn’t open”, “I log in, but profile doesn’t show up on desktop app”

  1. Do troubleshooting
  2. If it doesn't work, check if your anti-virus or other 3rd party app installed on your PC is blocking it or not.

Don't keep Spotify open while using the Desktop app. If you really need it, try using Spotify web.
