Spotify has recently started testing an official app for the Apple Watch with beta testers of the iPhone app starting to gain access to the Apple Watch version of the app. In a statement issued by Spotify with regards to the testing of the Apple Watch app, they said, “We’re always testing new products and experiences, but have no further news to share at this time.”

So far based on the tests, it looks like the app for the Apple Watch is rather basic in nature where for the most part it will just be used as another way to control music playback.
